Hi, I’m Luke from O’Brien Engineering. Welcome to Material Mondays, where we focus on one of our speciality materials from our extensive range.
Today, we’re going to take a closer look at AlumaMark. These can be purchased as sheets, or we can process them in-house to create a custom product to suit your specific requirements.
AlumaMark is available in gold, silver, and a brushed brass finish. It has a unique coating that doesn’t require any pastes or sprays – you can engrave directly using a CO₂ laser to achieve high contrast and even photo-quality images on this aluminium-based material.
AlumaMark allows for fine, high-quality detail, but what makes it stand out is the ability to achieve a range of contrast levels through engraving. As you can see here, we’ve created an image of a Dalmatian with deep blacks through to lighter tones, offering a striking visual effect.
Compared to standard anodised aluminium, AlumaMark has a high-end, professional finish. This makes it an excellent choice for trophies, plaques, and awards, particularly in events like the WPL. With modern CO₂ engraving technology, you can achieve crisp black markings on a premium presentation surface.
