Hi, I’m Luke from O’Brien Engineering. Welcome to Material Mondays, where we focus on one of our speciality materials from our extensive range.
Today, we’re taking a closer look at a very unique product called Seklema. This material can be purchased from us as full sheets, or we can cut it down to smaller sections to suit your machine bed size or specific equipment requirements.
What makes Seklema unique is that it’s not designed to be engraved—it’s actually a hold-down mat. In applications where you’re working with thin laminates or metals, you may find that they lift or shift due to heat transfer. This amazing product ensures that your material or substrate stays securely in place while you engrave or mark it.
Seklema is especially effective in rotary engraving and certain laser applications, where it helps increase efficiency by eliminating the need for clamps, tape, or other securing methods. By using this mat, you can keep your material firm and prevent unwanted movement, leading to better engraving and marking results.
One of the key benefits of Seklema is that it is self-healing, washable, and reusable. It can also be used on both sides, allowing for long-term use and durability. Ultimately, this specialised material helps achieve more precise and consistent engravings while reducing setup time.
