Hi, I’m Luke from O’Brien Engineering. Welcome to Material Mondays, where we take a closer look at one of the specialty materials from our extensive range.
Today we’re focusing on Transply – a unique laminate available in sheets, or custom cut or die-punched to size right here in-house.
Transply is a versatile material. You can laser engrave it, or if you don’t have a laser, you can also rotary or mechanically engrave. By removing the top layer of colour, you reveal the contrasting core underneath, creating a crisp, clear finish perfect for signage, identification plates, and trophies.
Some popular combinations include white-to-black, black-to-white, and a range of metallic finishes like brushed gold and silver. These are ideal for name badges, awards, or premium signage.
We import the Transply range from overseas, and it’s known for its excellent quality – giving you a sharp, professional engraving, similar to our Laserply, but suited for rotary and mechanical applications as well.
Sheets are also available with adhesive backing if required, making in-house processing even easier. And if you’ve got one of our 2011 Guillotines, you can quickly cut the plates down to size.
